Our group classes are designed to enhance our Learners'

conversation and fluency

when speaking with native speakers at work, socially or when travelling abroad. They include the essential grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation aspects of the English language. We cover a wide variety of topics everyone can relate to.

Talk the Talk

Beginner Level (CLB 2 to CLB5) 

90 Min/Once a week -  12 sessions  

​

Session 1: Self-introductions and conversations 

Learn how to introduce yourself and have simple conversations about basic personal information, likes and dislikes (small talk).

 

Session 2: Talk about daily routines

Learn to talk about your daily life using proper grammar (Present Simple Tense).

​

Session 3: Talk about your family

Continue to learn how to introduce your family. Learn to talk about age.

​

Session 4: Talk about what you did today 

Learn to talk about what you did today using proper grammar (Past Simple Tense).

​

Session 5:  At the Doctor's Office

Learn to talk about health issues in the doctor’s office. (Present Continuous Tense).

​

Session 6: Renting a Place

Learn vocabulary about accommodation and how to talk about people and things using descriptive words (adjectives and adverbs).

​

Session 7. Asking for Directions

Learn how to ask for directions in an unfamiliar place. 

 

Session 8: Banking and Money in Canada

Learn to use basic vocabulary when going to the bank or doing shopping. 

​

Session 9: It’s Vacation Time!

Learn to talk about the best places to travel in Canada.

​

Session 10: Know your rights! Be a good neighbour!

Introduction to your rights and responsibilities in Canada.

Session 11: Looking for a Job  

Basic vocabulary to build an entry-level resume. What to expect on the job interview?

Session 12: It’s Your Move! 

In this session  we will address issues that are most important to you, the learner! Whether it is a matter of vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation or anything really, we will address it head-on! Also we will reflect on what was learnt so bring it on!

Walk the Walk

Intermediate Level (CLB 5 and up) 

90 Min/Once a week -  12 sessions

Session 1: Introductions and small talk. 

Learn how to introduce yourself and others and the basic vocabulary for making small talk. Everyday communication situations explained. 

 

Session 2: Family of Words

Distinguish between nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs and how to elevate your English by mastering their use.   

​

Session 3: Spelling and Punctuation Made Simple

Get your writing to the next level. Learn the best tricks for English spelling and learn about punctuation and capitalization rules in English. 

​

Session 4: Storytelling

Learn to use present, past and future tense, (including perfect and continuous) with the help of storytelling. Learn tips and tricks to increase your fluency.

 

Session 5: Family of Words

Distinguish between prepositions and conjunctions and how they help you express yourself with more accuracy.

​

Session 6: Reading is fun!

Learn to use the different reading strategies such as skimming a text for gist and scanning text for specific information to get the most of your lectures. 

 

Session 7: Building Vocabulary

Learn about collocations, phrasal verbs and idioms in English and how you can sound more like the English native speakers. 

​

Session 8: How to Sound English

Learn to pronounce the commonly mispronounced English sounds correctly and the rising and falling intonation to increase your confidence when speaking and help you embrace your accent. 

​

Session 9: Let's Listen!

Do you  listen to native speakers talking fast and feel like you have not caught everything they said? Learn how to avoid that. 

 

Session 10: Vocabulary for Checking Understanding and Giving Advice 

Learn the common expressions used when doing a follow-up to check understanding. Also learn the most common grammar structures used when giving advice.

Session 11: Writing Made Simple 

Learn the basic rules of writing formal and informal messages. E-mail, letter and essay writing principles revealed and applied.

 

Session 12: It’s Your Move! 

In this session  we will address issues that are most important to you, the learner! Also we will reflect on what was learnt so bring it on!
